Sensitive skin concerns including redness and inflammation

Rosacea & Redness

Rosacea and persistent redness are inflammatory skin conditions affecting skin sensitivity, vascular function and barrier integrity. The condition is characterised by facial flushing, visible redness and increased skin reactivity, and may fluctuate in severity over time.

At MiSkin, we assess the underlying factors contributing to rosacea and redness and develop personalised treatment strategies designed to calm inflammation, strengthen the skin barrier and support long term skin stability.

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder involving dysfunction of the skin’s vascular and immune response. There are various sub-types and presentations of the disorder, and is more common than you know. Typical presentations include persistent redness, flushing, visible capillaries, papules or pustules, and heightened skin sensitivity. In some cases, the condition may also affect the eyes.

Rosacea is often confused with acne, general sensitivity or sun damage, however it is a distinct medical skin condition requiring targeted management. Symptoms vary between individuals and may worsen during periods of increased skin reactivity.

Persistent redness without active lesions may present independently, often reflecting vascular instability and impaired barrier function. An in-depth skin consultation is essential when sensitivity or redness is present, as correct diagnosis of the underlying drivers is required to restore barrier function and reduce vascular reactivity safely and effectively.
